I have a SPIKSMED TV storage combination and the sliding doors are stuck and won't slide open. Can I lubricate them somehow or is there another solution?

To fix the stuck sliding doors on your SPIKSMED TV storage combination, you can try the following:

First, check if there is any debris or obstructions preventing the doors from sliding smoothly. Gently wipe down the tracks with a clean, dry cloth to remove any dust or dirt buildup.

If the doors are still stuck, you can try lubricating the tracks. Use a silicone-based lubricant spray designed for sliding doors and apply it along the length of the tracks. Avoid using oil-based lubricants as they can attract more dirt over time.

After applying the lubricant, gently move the doors back and forth to work it into the tracks. This should help restore the smooth sliding motion.

If the doors are still not sliding properly, check that the mounting brackets are properly secured and aligned. You may need to make minor adjustments to ensure the doors are moving freely along the tracks.

As a last resort, you can contact IKEA customer service for further troubleshooting advice or replacement parts if the issue persists

What type of screws are used to assemble the TV storage combination? I want to replace a damaged screw with an identical one.

The SPIKSMED TV storage combination uses a combination of screws and dowels for assembly. The most common screws used are:

- Cam screws - These are the screws that connect the cabinet panels together. They have a round head and a threaded end that fits into pre-drilled holes.

- Wood screws - These are used to attach the cabinet backs and shelves. They have a pointed tip that screws directly into the wood.

- Machine screws - These are used to attach the metal hardware like the hinges and sliding door tracks. They have a threaded shaft that fits into pre-drilled holes.

To replace a damaged screw, you'll want to closely examine the existing screw to determine the size and type. Bring the screw with you to the hardware store to find an exact replacement. Make sure the new screw has the same diameter, thread pitch, and length as the original
