Posted on Aug 03, 2023I have a BESTÅ TV unit with drawers and door, but the drawers are difficult to open and close due to the soft-closing mechanism not functioning properly.
Is there a way to adjust or clean this mechanism to make it work smoothly again?

Answered on Aug 05, 2023To troubleshoot the soft-closing mechanism on the BESTÅ TV unit drawers:
First, check if there is any debris or obstructions preventing the drawers from opening and closing smoothly. Wipe down the drawer slides and mechanism with a clean, dry cloth to remove any dust or dirt buildup.
If the drawers are still sticking, you can try adjusting the soft-closing mechanism. Locate the small adjustment screws on the drawer slides. Gently turn these screws clockwise in small increments to increase the tension and slow down the closing action. Test the drawer after each small adjustment until you achieve the desired smooth motion.
If the mechanism is still not functioning properly after cleaning and adjusting, the soft-closing mechanism may need to be replaced. You can order replacement drawer slides and soft-close mechanisms from IKEA to fully restore the smooth operation of the drawers
