Answered on Jan 10, 2024The HEMNES TV unit does not have a removable top shelf. The top surface is a solid piece of wood that is fixed in place and cannot be removed. All the shelves and drawers on this unit are non-removable and are part of the main frame construction

Posted on Nov 10, 2022I'd like to know if the HEMNES TV unit has any adjustable shelves or compartments, as I have a larger TV that's slightly heavier than the maximum recommended weight of 90 pounds. Would it be possible to add additional support or adjust the unit in some way to accommodate my TV?

The maximum weight capacity for the TV is 90 lb (41 kg), so if your TV is slightly heavier, it would exceed the recommended weight limit and could potentially cause damage to the unit. Instead, I suggest looking for an IKEA TV unit that is specifically designed to accommodate heavier TVs, such as the BRIMNES or BESTA TV units, which have higher weight capacities
