Posted on Jan 09, 2024I'm having trouble assembling the LACK wall shelf, the screws are not fitting into the holes properly. Are there any tips or tricks to ensure a proper fit?
Kenzo @ EasyRebuild
Answered on Jan 11, 2024The issue with the LACK wall shelf screws not fitting properly into the holes may be due to a few potential reasons:
1. Ensure the wall material is suitable for the provided wall anchors. The LACK shelf requires sturdy wall material like drywall or wood to properly hold the screws.
2. Double-check that you are using the correct screws provided in the LACK shelf hardware kit. The screws should match the wall anchors in size and thread.
3. Verify that the pre-drilled holes in the wall shelf are aligned correctly with the wall anchors. You may need to re-drill the holes if they are not properly positioned.
4. Try gently tapping the wall anchors into the wall with a hammer before screwing in the shelf. This can help the anchors seat properly in the wall material.
If you continue to have issues, I'd recommend contacting IKEA customer service for further troubleshooting assistance to ensure a secure and proper wall mounting of the LACK shelf

Posted on Jun 13, 2023I've assembled the Kallax/Lack combination, but I'm having trouble adjusting the shelf inserts to fit snugly in their slots. Are there any specific instructions or tricks for getting them to line up correctly?
Kenzo @ EasyRebuild
Answered on Jun 15, 2023To get the shelf inserts to fit snugly in the Kallax shelving unit, here are a few tips:
1. Ensure the Kallax frame is assembled properly and all screws are tightened securely. This will help the frame stay square and aligned.
2. When inserting the shelf inserts, start by aligning the front edge first. Gently push the insert straight back until it clicks into place.
3. If the insert is still loose, try adjusting the plastic pegs on the sides of the insert. Gently push them out slightly to create a tighter fit in the Kallax slots.
4. Double-check that the insert is level and flush with the Kallax frame. You can tap it lightly with your hand to get it to sit properly.
5. For the Lack wall shelf, ensure the mounting hardware is securely fastened to the wall before attaching the shelf.
