Posted on Mar 10, 2024I have a BERGMUND chair with the white legs and Rommele dark blue/white cover. I want to change the style of my chair by replacing the striped chair cover with one in a different color or model. Can you recommend any other covers that would fit this chair?
Alice @ EasyRebuild
Answered on Mar 12, 2024The BERGMUND chair is designed to be highly customizable, allowing you to easily change the style by replacing the chair cover. Some other cover options that would fit your chair with the white legs include:
- BERGMUND chair cover in Gunnared medium gray/white
- BERGMUND chair cover in Bomstad black
- BERGMUND chair cover in Svanby beige
All of these cover options are compatible with the BERGMUND chair frame and will securely attach using the hook-and-loop fasteners. This allows you to quickly and easily update the look of your chair whenever you want to change the style

Posted on Mar 06, 2024I love the design and features of this chair! However, I'm having some trouble with the hook-and-loop fasteners that secure the chair cover. They don't seem to be sticking well anymore and are coming undone frequently.
Is there a way to clean or adjust these fasteners to make them more effective?
Alice @ EasyRebuild
Answered on Mar 08, 2024The hook-and-loop fasteners on the BERGMUND chair cover can become less effective over time due to wear and tear. Here are some steps you can take to clean and adjust them:
1. Remove the chair cover completely and inspect the hook-and-loop fasteners. Look for any dirt, lint or debris that may be preventing them from adhering properly.
2. Gently clean the fasteners using a soft-bristled brush or a lint roller to remove any accumulated buildup. Avoid using water or harsh cleaners as this can damage the fasteners.
3. Once cleaned, try reattaching the cover. Press the hook and loop parts firmly together to ensure a secure connection. You may need to go over the entire perimeter a few times to get a tight fit.
4. If the fasteners still don't seem to be gripping well, you can try lightly roughening the surface with a fine-grit sandpaper. This can help restore the adhesive properties of the hooks and loops.
5. As a last resort, you can purchase replacement hook-and-loop fastener strips from IKEA and carefully sew or glue them onto the chair cover and frame to get a fresh, strong hold.
With a little maintenance, you should be able to restore the effectiveness of the fasteners and keep your BERGMUND chair cover securely in place

Posted on Oct 22, 2023I've been using my Bergmund chair for a while now, and I've noticed that the seat cushion has started to lose its shape. Is there any way to fluff it back up or replace it if necessary?
Alice @ EasyRebuild
Answered on Oct 24, 2023To refresh the seat cushion on your BERGMUND chair, you can try the following:
1. Remove the chair cover by unfastening the hook-and-loop fasteners. This will give you access to the seat cushion.
2. Fluff up the cushion by hand to redistribute the filling and restore the shape. You can also try placing the cushion in the dryer on a low heat setting for 10-15 minutes to help refluff it.
3. If the cushion is still flat or damaged, you can replace it. IKEA sells replacement seat cushions for the BERGMUND chair that you can purchase. Simply remove the old cushion and insert the new one.
4. Once the cushion is refreshed or replaced, put the chair cover back on and secure it with the hook-and-loop fasteners.
This should help restore the comfort and shape of the seat cushion on your BERGMUND chair. Let me know if you have any other questions

Posted on Jul 23, 2023I've had my Bergmund chair for a while now, and I'm experiencing some issues with the seat's padding. It seems to have flattened out and lost its shape over time.
Is there any way to fluff it back up or replace it without having to purchase a whole new chair?
Kenzo @ EasyRebuild
Answered on Jul 25, 2023The seat padding on the BERGMUND chair can be replaced if it has become flattened over time. Here are the steps to do this:
1. Remove the chair cover by unfastening the hook-and-loop fasteners. This will give you access to the seat padding.
2. Carefully remove the existing seat padding. It may be glued or attached in some way, so you may need to use a tool to gently pry it out.
3. Purchase a replacement seat pad from IKEA. Make sure to get the correct size and shape to fit your BERGMUND chair model.
4. Insert the new seat pad and secure it in place. You may need to use some adhesive to attach it.
5. Put the chair cover back on, fastening it with the hook-and-loop fasteners.
This should restore the shape and comfort of the seat. Let me know if you have any other questions
