Posted on Nov 15, 2023I am having trouble with the drawers opening and closing smoothly.
Is there a trick to keeping them running smoothly, or do I need to adjust something?
Alice @ EasyRebuild
Answered on Nov 17, 2023The smooth-running drawers with the soft-closing mechanism on the GODMORGON / ODENSVIK sink cabinet are designed to provide a seamless open and close experience. If you're experiencing issues with the drawers not opening and closing smoothly, there are a few things you can check:
1. Check the drawer slides: Ensure the drawer slides are properly installed and not obstructed. Wipe down the slides with a clean cloth to remove any dust or debris that may be causing friction.
2. Adjust the drawer balance: There are small adjustments you can make to the drawer slides to balance the drawers and improve the smooth motion. Consult your assembly instructions or look for adjustment screws on the slides.
3. Lubricate the slides: Apply a small amount of silicone-based lubricant to the drawer slides. This will help reduce friction and allow the drawers to glide smoothly.
4. Inspect the soft-close mechanism: Make sure the soft-close mechanism is functioning correctly. Check for any obstructions or damage that may be preventing the drawers from closing gently.
By following these steps, you should be able to restore the smooth, soft-closing action of the GODMORGON / ODENSVIK drawers

Posted on Nov 05, 2022I am having some issues with the drawers in my Godmorgen/Odensvik sink cabinet. The top drawer is stuck and won't open fully, what could be causing this issue and how can I fix it?
Alice @ EasyRebuild
Answered on Nov 07, 2022The most likely cause of the top drawer being stuck and not opening fully is an issue with the drawer glides or runners. Over time, the drawer glides can become worn or obstructed, preventing the drawer from opening smoothly.
To fix this, you can try the following steps:
1. Fully extend the drawer out as far as possible.
2. Inspect the drawer glides for any debris, dust or obstructions. Clean them thoroughly using a soft cloth.
3. Check that the glides are properly aligned and not bent or damaged. If they are damaged, the drawer glides may need to be replaced.
4. Apply a small amount of silicone-based lubricant to the drawer glides to help them slide more smoothly.
5. Gently close and open the drawer a few times to work in the lubricant.
If the issue persists after trying these steps, there may be a more serious problem with the drawer construction or installation. In that case, you may need to contact IKEA for further assistance
