Posted on Apr 10, 2024I'd like to install the KALLAX shelf unit on my wall, but I'm having trouble figuring out how to attach the shelves to the wall plate. Can you please provide instructions or recommendations for secure attachment?

Posted on Jul 06, 2023How do I attach the KALLAX shelf unit to the wall? Is there a specific type of screw or anchor recommended for this product?
Kenzo @ EasyRebuild
Answered on Jul 08, 2023To securely attach the KALLAX shelf unit to the wall, IKEA recommends using wall anchors and screws designed for drywall. Specifically, you should use wall anchors that can support the weight of the unit and items you plan to store on the shelves, which have a maximum load capacity of 29 lb (13 kg) per shelf.
The KALLAX shelf unit does not come with wall mounting hardware, so you will need to purchase the appropriate anchors and screws separately. IKEA sells a wall anchoring kit designed for KALLAX that includes the necessary hardware. Alternatively, you can use drywall anchors and screws from your local hardware store, making sure they are rated to support the weight.
Be sure to follow the step-by-step wall mounting instructions provided in the KALLAX assembly manual to ensure a secure and stable installation

Posted on May 28, 2023I'm trying to assemble the KALLAX shelf unit, but I'm having trouble attaching the back panel. The instructions are unclear and I don't know how to secure it properly. Can you provide more detailed guidance on how to attach the back panel?
Kenzo @ EasyRebuild
Answered on May 30, 2023To attach the back panel to the KALLAX shelf unit:
1. Ensure you have all the necessary hardware, including the screws or bolts specified in the assembly instructions.
2. Start by positioning the back panel against the frame, aligning the holes in the panel with the corresponding holes in the frame.
3. Insert the screws or bolts through the holes, making sure they go all the way through and secure the back panel in place.
4. Tighten the screws or bolts firmly, but do not overtighten, as this could strip the threads.
5. Double-check that the back panel is securely attached and there are no gaps between the panel and the frame.
6. If you encounter any difficulty, refer back to the assembly instructions or contact IKEA customer service for further guidance.
The key is to carefully align the back panel and hardware, and tighten the connections securely to ensure a stable and sturdy final assembly
