Posted on May 23, 2023I have a Nordli dresser that I purchased from Ikea and it has started to wobble a bit when I open or close the drawers. The drawers themselves are not damaged but the frame of the dresser seems to be loose. How can I tighten it up without having to replace the entire piece?

Answered on May 25, 2023To tighten up the wobbling Nordli dresser without replacing the entire piece, you can try the following steps:
1. Check all the screws and bolts that hold the frame of the dresser together. Use a screwdriver or wrench to tighten any loose connections.
2. Ensure the dresser is level on the floor. Adjust the leveling feet at the bottom of the dresser to compensate for any uneven surfaces.
3. If the frame still feels loose, you can try adding additional support. Use wood glue or furniture brackets to reinforce the joints between the side panels and top/bottom of the frame.
4. As a last resort, you can disassemble the dresser partially, check for any damaged parts, and reassemble it carefully, making sure all the connections are tight.

1. First, check if the drawer is properly aligned within the dresser frame. Ensure it is not rubbing against the sides or top.
2. If the alignment is correct, the next step is to lubricate the drawer runners. Use a silicone-based lubricant or furniture polish designed for wood and metal. Apply a small amount to the runners and work the drawer back and forth to distribute the lubricant.
3. If the drawer still sticks, the runners may be damaged or worn out. In this case, you can try replacing the drawer runners. Replacement runners are available from IKEA and can be easily installed.
4. Lastly, check the drawer bottom for any obstructions or debris that could be causing the sticking. Clean the drawer interior thoroughly.
