Posted on Feb 16, 2024I recently purchased the BESTÅ storage combination and I love it! However, one of the drawers seems to be sticking a bit when I open or close it. Is there a way to lubricate the drawer slides or is this normal wear and tear?

Answered on Feb 18, 2024The drawer sticking issue you're experiencing is likely due to the drawer slides needing some maintenance. Here are a few steps you can take to address this:
1. First, check if the drawer is properly aligned within the cabinet frame. Ensure it is sliding smoothly along the rails without any obstructions.
2. If the alignment is correct, you can try lubricating the drawer slides. Use a silicone-based lubricant or furniture polish and apply a small amount to the moving parts of the slides. This will help reduce friction and allow the drawer to open and close more smoothly.
3. Avoid using oil-based lubricants as they can attract dust and dirt, which may worsen the issue over time.
4. If the problem persists, you may need to adjust the drawer slides. There are usually small screws or levers that allow you to fine-tune the positioning of the slides for a better fit.
Following these steps should help resolve the sticking drawer issue with your BESTÅ storage combination. Let me know if you have any other questions

Posted on Feb 02, 2024I've assembled the Bestå storage combination, but I'm having trouble with one of the drawers not closing properly. The soft-close function seems to be working for the other drawer, but this one has a bit of resistance and doesn't quite close all the way.
Is there anything that can be adjusted or checked to get it functioning correctly again?

Answered on Feb 04, 2024To address the issue with the drawer not closing properly, you can try the following:
1. Check the drawer alignment: Ensure that the drawer is properly aligned within the cabinet frame. Loosen the screws that attach the drawer slide to the cabinet frame, then adjust the drawer position until it closes smoothly.
2. Adjust the soft-close mechanism: The soft-close function is controlled by a small damper mechanism attached to the drawer slide. Locate this mechanism and try adjusting the tension screw or lever to increase or decrease the closing resistance.
3. Inspect the drawer slide: Examine the drawer slide for any obstructions or debris that may be causing the resistance. Clean the slide and apply a small amount of furniture polish or lubricant to help the drawer glide more easily.
4. Tighten the screws: Ensure that all the screws securing the drawer slide to the cabinet frame and the drawer are tightened properly. Loose screws can cause the drawer to bind or not close fully.
If these adjustments do not resolve the issue, you may need to replace the drawer slide or the soft-close mechanism. Contact IKEA customer service for further assistance
