Posted on Jan 10, 2023I have installed my Hemnes Mirror Cabinet, but I'm having trouble with the door not staying closed. The magnets seem to be weak and it keeps falling open.
Is there a way to adjust or replace them?
Kenzo @ EasyRebuild
Answered on Jan 12, 2023The issue with the door not staying closed is likely due to the magnetic closure mechanism. There are a few things you can try to resolve this:
1. Check the magnets: Ensure the magnets are properly aligned and making full contact when the door is closed. You may need to adjust the position of the magnets slightly.
2. Tighten the hinges: Over time, the hinges can become loose, causing the door to sag and not close properly. Use a screwdriver to tighten the hinge screws.
3. Replace the magnets: If the magnets are worn out or not strong enough, you can purchase replacement magnets from IKEA and install them. This should provide a stronger, more reliable closure.
4. Adjust the door: The door may need to be realigned if it's not closing flush. Look for adjustment screws on the hinges and make small tweaks until the door closes properly.
Try these troubleshooting steps, and if the issue persists, you may need to contact IKEA for further assistance

Posted on Nov 04, 2022I would like to install this mirror cabinet above my bathroom sink, but I am concerned about the weight of it. Is there a recommended wall type or strength requirement for hanging this cabinet? Additionally, are the screws and hardware included with the purchase, or do I need to source those separately?
