This 4-seat table can easily be extended into a 6-seat table using the included self-storing leaf.
The self-storing leaf is easy to insert to extend the table from 4 to 6 and just as easy to remove and tuck away under the table top when your guests have gone home.
The white table has a painted hardwood veneer top layer giving you a durable surface that looks like new even longer.
Thanks to new research and a new technique, the upholstered chair gives you optimal seating comfort. Change the style anytime by replacing the chair cover with one in a different color or model.
The upholstery of the chair consists of straight polyester fibers with small gaps between them – providing comfy elasticity and better ventilation so you enjoy a pleasant temperature when sitting.
The seat's bowl-shaped bottom is adapted for your sit bones and those of most of the world's population. And with an innovative technique, the seat's padding is shaped to maximize your comfort.
The cover is easy to keep clean as it is removable and can be washed.
The chair cover comes in one piece and fixes in place with hook-and-loop fasteners so you can easily pull it off and put it back on again.
The chair legs are made of solid wood, which is a durable natural material.

Posted on Jan 08, 2023I recently purchased the EKEDALEN / BERGMUND table and chairs, but I'm having trouble with the self-storing leaf not fitting properly when extending the table from 4 to 6 seats. Can you provide any troubleshooting tips or suggest a solution to this problem?
Kenzo @ EasyRebuild
Answered on Jan 10, 2023The self-storing leaf not fitting properly when extending the table could be due to a few potential issues:
1. Ensure the table is level and on a flat surface. An uneven surface can prevent the leaf from aligning and fitting correctly.
2. Check that the leaf is inserted properly into the table frame. Make sure it is fully extended and locked into place. There may be a specific technique required to get the leaf to fit seamlessly.
3. Inspect the leaf and table frame for any obstructions or debris that could be interfering with the fit. Clean the surfaces thoroughly.
4. Verify that the leaf has not been warped or damaged, which could prevent it from fitting correctly. If the leaf is damaged, you may need to contact IKEA for a replacement part.
5. Review the assembly instructions carefully and ensure all components are properly installed. There may be a specific order or technique required.
If you continue to have issues, I would recommend contacting IKEA customer service. They should be able to provide more detailed troubleshooting guidance or arrange for a replacement part if needed

Posted on Dec 14, 2022I have just set up my Ekedalen/Bergmund table and chairs, but I'm having trouble removing the self-storing leaf from its storage compartment under the table top. It seems stuck! Are there any tips on how to remove it smoothly?

Answered on Dec 16, 2022To remove the self-storing leaf from the storage compartment under the Ekedalen/Bergmund table top, try the following:
1. Ensure the table is placed on a level surface. This will help the leaf slide out more easily.
2. Gently pull the leaf outward, applying even pressure. It may require a bit of force to overcome the initial resistance, but avoid pulling too hard.
3. If the leaf still feels stuck, try tilting the table slightly to one side while pulling. This can help release the leaf from its stored position.
4. Make sure there are no obstructions or debris in the storage compartment that could be preventing the leaf from sliding out smoothly.
5. As a last resort, you can try gently tapping the underside of the table top near the leaf's storage area to help dislodge it.
Go slowly and avoid using excessive force, as this could damage the table or the leaf mechanism. With a bit of patience, the self-storing leaf should slide out easily
