Posted on Aug 10, 2023I'm looking to clean my Sollerön outdoor sofa, and the instructions suggest that I can remove and machine wash the cushion cover. However, there are some stubborn stains on the fabric that I'm worried might not come out with just washing. Are there any special cleaning products or techniques recommended by Ikea for removing tough stains from the Sollerön fabric?

If the stain persists, you can try using a small amount of mild detergent or upholstery cleaner specifically designed for outdoor fabrics. Test the cleaner on a inconspicuous area first to ensure it doesn't discolor or damage the fabric. Gently blot the stain with a clean, damp cloth, and avoid rubbing too vigorously.

Is there a specific cleaning method or product recommended by Ikea for maintaining the water repellency of the cushion cover?

1. Regularly clean the cushion cover by removing it and machine washing it on a gentle cycle using a mild detergent. Avoid using fabric softener as it can reduce the water repellency.
2. After washing, air dry the cushion cover completely before putting it back on the cushion. Avoid using a clothes dryer as the heat can also impact the water repellent properties.
