With BETSÖ umbrella frame you get a maintenance-free wooden look since the pole is made of naturally rust-free aluminum with a wooden print.
Easily open or close the umbrella by using the pulley. Pull the rope down to open the umbrella. Secure with the locking pin in the pole’s hole. Remove the pin and release the rope slowly to close it.
Tilt function provides protection from the sun all day long.
The dope-dyeing process reduces consumption of water and dye while improving color fastness compared to traditional dyeing techniques.
The strap with buckle keeps the fabric in place when folded.
With a light, passing rain shower, you can stay and relax under the umbrella since the canopy repels water.
You can easily renew the look of your umbrella since the canopy and umbrella frame are sold separately. Assembly it all in place is also quick and easy – so you can spend more time relaxing in the shade.

Posted on Oct 11, 2023I'd love to know how to fix the umbrella when it starts to leak or rain gets through. Are there any specific parts that can be replaced if damaged, and are they available for purchase?
Alice @ EasyRebuild
Answered on Oct 13, 2023The canopy fabric of the BETSÖ / VÅRHOLMEN umbrella is designed to be water-repellent and durable, but over time it may become worn or damaged, causing leaks. The good news is that the canopy is sold separately, so you can easily replace it if needed.
To fix a leaking or damaged umbrella canopy, you can purchase a replacement BETSÖ / VÅRHOLMEN umbrella canopy from IKEA. This will allow you to quickly and easily swap out the old canopy with a new one, restoring the water-repellent properties and protecting you from the rain.
Additionally, the umbrella frame, including the pole and tilt mechanism, is made of rust-free aluminum with a wood-effect finish, so these parts are also durable and should not require frequent replacement. However, if any of the frame components become damaged, you can contact IKEA to inquire about purchasing replacement parts

Posted on Jul 30, 2022I recently purchased the BETSÖ / VÅRHOLMEN umbrella and love its design, but I'm having trouble with the locking mechanism. How do I properly secure the locking pin in the pole's hole to ensure it doesn't come loose while using the umbrella?
Kenzo @ EasyRebuild
Answered on Aug 01, 2022To properly secure the locking pin on the BETSÖ / VÅRHOLMEN umbrella:
1. Fully open the umbrella using the pulley system.
2. Locate the hole near the top of the umbrella pole.
3. Insert the locking pin into this hole until it clicks into place, securing the open position of the umbrella.
4. Make sure the pin is inserted all the way and cannot be pulled out easily. This will prevent the umbrella from collapsing unexpectedly.
To close the umbrella, simply remove the locking pin and slowly release the pulley rope to allow the umbrella to fold back down. The locking pin should be used every time you open the umbrella to ensure it remains stable and secure while in use
