You can mount the legs to the right or left, according to your space or preference.

I was wondering if it's possible to convert this desk and chair set into a standing desk setup? Are there any compatible accessories or modifications that I could make to achieve this?

The MICKE / DAGNAR desk and chair set is not designed to be converted into a standing desk setup. The desk is a fixed height and does not have the capability to adjust to standing desk heights. Additionally, the chair is intended to be used in a seated position and does not have the adjustability to work as a standing desk chair. There are no compatible accessories or modifications available from IKEA to convert this particular set into a standing desk configuration. The best solution would be to consider purchasing a dedicated standing desk and chair designed for that purpose if you want a standing workstation
