Posted on Apr 11, 2023I'm having issues with the drawer runners, they seem to be getting stuck and making a loud creaking noise when I open or close the drawers.
Is there any way to lubricate them or adjust the runners in some way to fix this problem?
Kenzo @ EasyRebuild
Answered on Apr 13, 2023To fix the stuck and creaking drawer runners, you can try the following:
1. Lubricate the drawer runners. Use a silicone-based lubricant or a dry lubricant spray designed for furniture drawers. Apply a small amount to the moving parts of the runners and work the drawers back and forth to distribute the lubricant.
2. Check the drawer alignment. Ensure the drawers are properly installed and aligned within the cabinet frame. If they are not aligned, you can try adjusting the drawer runners by loosening the screws and repositioning the drawers.
3. Clean the drawer runners. Over time, dirt and debris can build up on the runners, causing them to stick. Wipe down the runners with a clean cloth to remove any accumulated grime.
4. Inspect the drawer runners for damage. If the runners are worn or damaged, they may need to be replaced. Contact IKEA or a qualified repair service to obtain replacement drawer runners.
By following these steps, you should be able to resolve the issues with the stuck and creaking drawer runners on your HEMNES / ODENSVIK sink cabinet

Posted on Aug 24, 2022I just assembled the HEMNES/Odensvik sink cabinet and noticed that one of the drawers is not aligning properly. The drawer seems to be stuck a bit and doesn't slide in/out smoothly. Is there anything I can do to fix this issue?
Kenzo @ EasyRebuild
Answered on Aug 26, 2022The most likely cause of the drawer not aligning or sliding smoothly is that it was not properly installed. Here are the steps to troubleshoot and fix the issue:
1. First, fully extend the drawer and examine the drawer slides. Make sure the slides on the cabinet and the drawer are properly aligned and engaged.
2. Check that the screws securing the drawer slides to the cabinet and the drawer are tight. If any screws are loose, tighten them.
3. Ensure the drawer box is square and not warped. You may need to slightly adjust the position of the drawer box on the slides.
4. Apply a small amount of furniture polish or lubricant to the drawer slides to help them operate more smoothly.
5. If the issue persists, you may need to completely remove the drawer and re-install it, ensuring it is properly positioned on the slides.
Following these steps should help resolve the alignment and smooth operation of the drawer. Let me know if you have any other questions
