Posted on Aug 07, 2023I'm having some issues with the drawer slides being quite stiff. Is there a way to lubricate them or loosen them up?
Alice @ EasyRebuild
Answered on Aug 09, 2023To loosen up the stiff drawer slides on your HEMNES / ODENSVIK bathroom furniture set, you can try the following:
1. Locate the small screws on the drawer slides that attach the slides to the cabinet frame. Slightly loosen these screws, about 1-2 turns, to allow the slides to move more freely.
2. Apply a small amount of silicone-based lubricant or furniture polish to the moving parts of the drawer slides. Avoid using oil-based lubricants as they can attract dust and dirt over time.
3. Open and close the drawers a few times to work the lubricant into the slides. This should help reduce the stiffness and make the drawers slide more smoothly.
4. If the issue persists, you may need to adjust the alignment of the drawer slides. Refer to the assembly instructions or contact IKEA for guidance on how to properly adjust the slides

Posted on Dec 13, 2022I've installed the Hemnes/Odensvik bathroom furniture set and everything seems to be working fine except for one issue. The drawers don't seem to stay shut properly, even when I use the stopper mechanism. Is there a way to adjust or fix this so that the drawers close smoothly and stay shut?
Kenzo @ EasyRebuild
Answered on Dec 15, 2022To address the issue with the drawers not staying shut properly, here are a few troubleshooting steps you can try:
1. Check the drawer glides: Ensure that the drawer glides are properly installed and aligned. Over time, the glides can become misaligned, causing the drawers to not close smoothly. Try adjusting the glides to ensure they are properly positioned.
2. Adjust the drawer stops: The drawer stops are the mechanisms that prevent the drawers from being pulled out too far. Ensure that the stops are adjusted correctly. You may need to tighten or loosen the screws on the stops to find the right balance.
3. Lubricate the drawer glides: Apply a small amount of silicone-based lubricant to the drawer glides. This can help the drawers slide more smoothly and close properly.
4. Check the drawer fronts: Ensure that the drawer fronts are properly aligned and not warped or damaged. If the fronts are not aligned correctly, it can cause the drawers to not close properly.
If these steps do not resolve the issue, you may need to contact IKEA customer service for further assistance
