This 4-seat table can easily be extended into a 6-seat table using the included self-storing leaf.
The self-storing leaf is easy to insert to extend the table from 4 to 6 and just as easy to remove and tuck away under the table top when your guests have gone home.
The dark brown table has a hardwood veneer top layer that is both stained and lacquered for durability and to allow the natural wooden texture to shine through.
The upholstery of the chair consists of straight polyester fibers with small gaps between them – providing comfy elasticity and better ventilation so you enjoy a pleasant temperature when sitting.
The seat's bowl-shaped bottom is adapted for your sit bones and those of most of the world's population. And with an innovative technique, the seat's padding is shaped to maximize your comfort.
The chair legs are made of solid wood, which is a durable natural material.

Posted on Dec 31, 2023I am having trouble extending the table with the self-storing leaf. The leaf does not seem to fit properly and is difficult to slide in. Are there any specific steps or techniques that I can use to ensure a smooth extension?

Posted on Apr 11, 2023I want to use this table for my home office and I'm concerned about the stability of the extended leaf when there are only two chairs used. Has anyone else had any issues with the self-storing leaf staying in place or is it sturdy enough to hold its shape even when not fully loaded?

Answered on Apr 13, 2023The self-storing leaf on the EKEDALEN / BERGMUND table is designed to be sturdy and stable even when the table is not fully loaded. The leaf is integrated into the table top and locks securely in place when extended. As long as the leaf is properly inserted, it should remain stable and in place even with just two chairs. The solid wood construction of the table and chairs also contributes to the overall stability. You should not experience any issues with the leaf staying in place or the table becoming unstable when partially loaded for your home office use

Using the leaf with non-IKEA chairs may not fit securely or evenly. The leaf is engineered to integrate seamlessly with the table's frame and structure when extending it. Using incompatible chairs could affect the stability and even surface of the extended table. For the best results and a secure fit, it's recommended to use the BERGMUND chairs that are part of this EKEDALEN table set
