Posted on Aug 19, 2023I noticed that the fabric is water-repellent, but it's not waterproof. Can I use this umbrella in heavy rain or thunderstorms? Are there any specific maintenance tips to keep the fabric and pole in good condition after exposure to rain?

Answered on Aug 21, 2023The KUGGÖ / LINDÖJA umbrella is designed for sun protection and light rain, but not for heavy downpours or thunderstorms. The fabric is water-repellent, meaning it can withstand light, passing rain showers, but it is not fully waterproof. Using this umbrella in heavy rain or thunderstorms could lead to water seeping through the fabric.
To keep the umbrella in good condition after exposure to rain, here are some maintenance tips:
- Wipe down the pole and frame with a damp cloth to remove any water spots or dirt after use in the rain.
- Allow the umbrella to fully dry before storing it to prevent mildew or mold growth.
- Periodically clean the fabric canopy by removing it and machine washing it on a gentle cycle, then air drying.
- Apply a water-repellent spray treatment to the fabric every 1-2 years to help maintain its water-resistant properties.
Following these simple care steps will help extend the life of your KUGGÖ / LINDÖJA umbrella and keep it looking and functioning its best
