Answered on Jun 30, 2023The issue with the stuck top drawer is likely due to the drawer glides not operating smoothly. Here are some troubleshooting steps to try:
1. First, fully extend the drawer and inspect the glides for any obstructions or debris that may be preventing the smooth movement.
2. If the glides appear clear, try lubricating them with a silicone-based furniture polish or lubricant. Apply a small amount to the glide tracks and work the drawer back and forth to distribute the lubricant.
3. Check that the drawer is properly aligned within the cabinet frame. Ensure the glides are securely mounted and the drawer is sitting level. You may need to make minor adjustments to the drawer alignment.
4. If the issue persists, the drawer glides may need to be replaced. Replacement glides are readily available from IKEA or hardware stores. Follow the instructions carefully when installing the new glides.
