Posted on May 26, 2023I love the look of my Maximera/Voxtorp SEKTION kitchen cabinets! However, I've noticed that the drawer rollers are making a weird noise when I open or close the drawers. Is it normal for the rollers to make this kind of sound?
If not, what could be causing it and how can I fix it?
Alice @ EasyRebuild
Answered on May 28, 2023The sound you're hearing from the drawer rollers is likely not normal. Here are a few possible causes and how you can fix the issue:
1. Debris or buildup on the rollers: Over time, dust and debris can accumulate on the drawer rollers, causing them to make noise. Try cleaning the rollers by wiping them down with a damp cloth.
2. Misalignment of the drawer: If the drawer is not properly aligned within the cabinet frame, it can cause the rollers to rub against the sides, creating noise. Check that the drawer is installed correctly and make any necessary adjustments.
3. Worn or damaged rollers: If the drawer rollers are worn out or damaged, they may need to be replaced. Contact IKEA or a qualified repair technician to obtain replacement rollers and properly install them.
Addressing the cause of the noise should help restore the smooth, quiet operation of your Maximera/Voxtorp SEKTION drawers. Let me know if you have any other questions
