I have a RIBBA frame that's slightly damaged. The front plastic protection is cracked and I'm concerned it might get worse over time. Can I replace the front plastic protection or the entire frame if needed? If so, how do I go about doing it?

The front plastic protection on the RIBBA frame can be replaced if it becomes damaged. To do this:

1. Carefully remove the frame from the wall, taking care not to damage the frame itself.
2. Use a flathead screwdriver or similar tool to gently pry open the back of the frame. This will allow you to access the plastic front cover.
3. Carefully remove the damaged plastic cover and take it with you to your local IKEA store. They should be able to provide a replacement cover that fits your frame.
4. Reinstall the new plastic cover, ensuring it is securely in place, and reassemble the frame.
5. Hang the frame back on the wall, making sure it is level and secure.

If the frame itself is damaged beyond just the plastic cover, you may need to replace the entire RIBBA frame. You can purchase a new RIBBA frame of the same size from IKEA and transfer your artwork into the new frame

I'd like to know if the frame can be adjusted in terms of its depth. I have a picture that is slightly thicker than the standard depth and I'm worried it won't fit properly. Is there any way to adjust or extend the frame's depth?

The RIBBA Frame cannot be adjusted in terms of its depth. The frame has a fixed depth that is designed to accommodate standard picture frame depths. If your picture is slightly thicker than the standard depth, it may not fit properly within this frame. The frame is not designed to be extended or adjusted to accommodate thicker pictures. Your best option would be to explore other IKEA frame models that may have a greater depth capacity to accommodate your thicker picture

I want to frame a picture that is slightly larger than the mat opening. Is it possible to remove the mat from the frame or purchase an extension kit to accommodate my picture's size?

The RIBBA frame is designed with a fixed mat opening size that cannot be easily modified. Removing the mat would not be recommended, as it is an integral part of the frame's construction and helps to properly display the artwork.

Instead, I would suggest considering a few options:

1. Trim the edges of your picture to fit within the 19 1/4" x 27 1/4" mat opening. This will allow you to use the frame as intended.

2. Look for a larger RIBBA frame size that better matches the dimensions of your picture. The RIBBA line comes in multiple sizes to accommodate different artwork.

3. Explore using a custom frame from a local framing shop. They can create a frame that fits your picture's exact measurements.

The key is finding a solution that protects and properly displays your artwork without modifying the RIBBA frame in a way that could compromise its integrity. Let me know if you have any other questions
