I'm thinking of using these curtains in a room with a lot of windows and I want to know if they can be easily washed? Are the velvet curtains machine washable or hand wash only?

The SANELA room darkening curtains are machine washable. The thick velvet material is durable and can withstand machine washing. To wash the curtains:

- Machine wash in cold water on a gentle cycle.
- Use a mild detergent and avoid using bleach or fabric softener.
- Tumble dry on low heat or hang to air dry. Avoid high heat which can damage the velvet.

The machine washability makes these curtains easy to maintain and keep looking their best over time. The velvet material is also resistant to pilling, so you don't have to worry about the curtains losing their luxurious appearance after washing

I just hung my Sanela curtains and they are a bit too long for my window. I'm wondering if there's an easy way to shorten them or do I need to take them back?

The SANELA curtains can be easily shortened without having to take them back to the store. Here are the steps to shorten the curtains:

1. Measure the desired length you want the curtains to be. Make sure to measure from the top of the curtain rod down to where you want the curtain to end.

2. Use a sharp pair of scissors to carefully cut the curtain to the desired length. Cut evenly across the bottom of the curtain.

3. After cutting, the curtain may fray slightly. To prevent further fraying, you can use fabric glue or hem tape to neatly finish the new bottom edge.

4. Rehang the curtains on the rod and adjust as needed. The hidden tabs on the heading tape will allow you to easily rehang the shortened curtains.

This is a simple DIY solution that will allow you to get the perfect fit for your window without having to return the curtains. Let me know if you have any other questions

I have the Sanela curtains in dark blue, but I'm having trouble hanging them due to the weight of the velvet fabric. Are there any special hooks or curtain rods that you would recommend using to support the weight and hang them properly?
