Posted on Jan 21, 2024I have the PS 1995 Storage bench and I would like to know how to remove the lid for cleaning and maintenance. Can you provide instructions on how to do this safely?

Answered on Jan 23, 2024To remove the lid of the IKEA PS 1995 Storage bench for cleaning and maintenance:
1. Ensure the bench is placed on a stable, level surface.
2. Locate the hinges on the underside of the lid.
3. Using a screwdriver, carefully remove the screws that secure the hinges to the bench frame.
4. Gently lift the lid straight up to detach it from the hinges.
5. Clean the lid and the interior of the bench as needed.
6. To reassemble, align the lid with the hinges and secure the screws back into place.
Be cautious when removing and reinstalling the lid, as the soft-closing hinges are designed to prevent fingers from getting caught. Take your time and work slowly to avoid any potential injuries
