Posted on Oct 19, 2023I would like to know if it's possible to add a soft-close mechanism to the drawer without having to replace the entire MAXIMERA drawer unit. If not, can you recommend any compatible soft-close drawer slides that I could use as an alternative?

Answered on Oct 21, 2023It is possible to add a soft-close mechanism to the MAXIMERA drawer without having to replace the entire unit. IKEA offers a soft-close adapter kit that can be retrofitted to the existing MAXIMERA drawers. This kit includes the necessary hardware and instructions to install the soft-close feature. As an alternative, you could also look for compatible soft-close drawer slides from third-party manufacturers, such as Blum or Grass, that are designed to work with the SEKTION cabinet system. These aftermarket slides would allow you to upgrade the drawer functionality without having to replace the entire MAXIMERA unit

Posted on Aug 30, 2022I am having trouble assembling the SEKTION Base cab for my HAVSEN sink and recycling unit. The instructions seem unclear on how to attach the Maximera drawer to the frame. Can someone please provide step-by-step guidance or a video tutorial on how to assemble this specific part of the cabinet?

Answered on Sep 01, 2022To attach the MAXIMERA drawer to the SEKTION base cabinet frame, follow these steps:
1. Locate the drawer slides that came with the cabinet. These will be mounted on the inside of the cabinet frame.
2. Pull the drawer slides out fully and place the MAXIMERA drawer box on top of them, aligning the edges.
3. There should be small plastic clips or brackets that allow the drawer box to clip into the slides. Secure these clips to attach the drawer box firmly to the slides.
4. Once the drawer box is clipped in, you can test the smooth, full-extension motion of the MAXIMERA drawer. Adjust the clips or slides if needed to ensure the drawer operates properly.
5. Repeat this process for any additional drawers in the cabinet. The key is aligning the drawer box precisely with the pre-installed slides for a seamless installation.
