Posted on May 26, 2023I have a Trofast storage combination that I've had for a few years, but one of the boxes is no longer sliding smoothly in and out. Is there a way to lubricate or adjust the guides rails so that it glides more easily again?

Answered on May 28, 2023To help the Trofast storage box slide more smoothly again, you can try the following:
1. Inspect the guide rails and box for any debris or obstructions. Wipe them down with a clean, dry cloth to remove any dust or dirt buildup.
2. Apply a small amount of silicone-based lubricant or furniture polish to the guide rails. Avoid using oil-based lubricants as they can attract more dirt over time.
3. If the box is still sticking, you may need to adjust the guide rails. Loosen the screws holding the rails in place, then gently adjust the rail position to align it properly with the box. Retighten the screws once the box is sliding smoothly.
4. As a last resort, you can replace the problematic box if it is damaged or warped beyond repair. Replacement boxes are available from IKEA.
With a little maintenance, you should be able to get your Trofast storage box gliding like new again
