Posted on Sep 26, 2023I have the IDANÄS bed frame and I'm having trouble with the headboard. The screws that attach it to the frame are loose and keep coming undone. Is there a way to tighten them or is this a design flaw?
Alice @ EasyRebuild
Answered on Sep 28, 2023The loose screws attaching the headboard to the bed frame on the IDANÄS bed are likely due to normal wear and tear over time, not a design flaw. To tighten them, you can try the following:
1. Locate the screws that are loose and use a screwdriver to tighten them securely. Make sure not to overtighten.
2. If the screw holes have become enlarged, you can try inserting toothpicks or matchsticks into the holes to fill the space before re-inserting and tightening the screws.
3. As a more permanent solution, you can also replace the existing screws with slightly longer ones that will grip the frame better. Be careful not to drill too deep and damage the frame.
4. Ensure all other hardware connections on the bed frame are also tight and properly secured. This will help stabilize the headboard and prevent future loosening of the screws.
With a little troubleshooting, you should be able to resolve the loose headboard issue on your IDANÄS bed frame
