Answered on Apr 07, 2024To assemble the headboard on the MALM bed frame:
1. Ensure you have all the required parts and hardware as listed in the instruction manual.
2. Attach the headboard brackets to the back of the headboard using the screws provided.
3. Align the headboard brackets with the pre-drilled holes on the bed frame and secure them using the additional screws.
4. Make sure the headboard is level and tightened securely to the frame.
5. If you're still having trouble, refer to the online assembly video on the IKEA website for a visual walkthrough.

Posted on Sep 13, 2023I am interested in purchasing the MALM bed frame, but I have a concern regarding the height of the headboard. Will it fit under my existing ceiling fan? The headboard is 39 3/8 inches high, and my ceiling fan has an approximate clearance of 38 inches from the floor to the bottom of the fan blades. Will there be enough space for the headboard to fit comfortably without interfering with the fan's operation or aesthetics?

Posted on Jun 26, 2022I love the design of this bed frame, but I'm having trouble with the slatted bed base. Some of the slats have come loose and are no longer providing support for my mattress. How can I fix or replace them?

Answered on Jun 28, 2022To fix the loose slats on your MALM bed frame with LÖNSET slatted bed base, try the following:
First, check if any of the slats are broken or cracked. If so, you'll need to replace those specific slats. IKEA sells replacement LÖNSET slats that you can purchase.
If the slats are just loose, you can try tightening them. Locate the plastic clips that hold the slats in place and gently push them back into the frame to secure the slats. Make sure all the slats are evenly spaced and lying flat.
If the clips are damaged or the slats continue to come loose, you may need to replace the entire LÖNSET slatted bed base. This is a relatively simple process - you can purchase a new LÖNSET base and follow the instructions to easily swap it out with the old one.
