Posted on Apr 14, 2024I'm having some issues with the drawers. The one drawer has a slight gap at the top, allowing dust and dirt to fall in when I open it. Is there an easy way to fix this or is it due to a manufacturing defect?

Answered on Apr 16, 2024The slight gap at the top of the drawer is likely due to normal wear and tear over time rather than a manufacturing defect. Here are a few steps you can try to fix the issue:
1. Check the drawer slides. Ensure they are properly aligned and not obstructed. You can try adjusting the slides to see if that helps close the gap.
2. Tighten any loose screws on the drawer frame and slides. This can help stabilize the drawer and reduce any gaps.
3. Apply a small amount of furniture wax or silicone lubricant to the drawer slides. This can help the drawer glide smoothly and seal any small gaps.
4. If the gap persists, you can try adding some weatherstripping or foam tape along the top edge of the drawer frame. This will help block dust and dirt from entering.
With a little troubleshooting, you should be able to eliminate the gap and keep your MALM bed drawers functioning properly. Let me know if you have any other questions

Posted on Jul 24, 2023I've noticed that the storage boxes are a bit scratched and dented. How do I clean and maintain them to prevent further damage? Are there any specific cleaning products or methods recommended by Ikea for the wood veneer surface of the bed frame and storage boxes?

Posted on May 22, 2023I love the design of this bed frame! I have a question about the storage boxes - are they easy to clean, especially the castors that allow them to roll out?
Are there any specific cleaning instructions I should follow?
Kenzo @ EasyRebuild
Answered on May 24, 2023The storage boxes and castors on the MALM bed frame are designed for easy cleaning. Here are some tips:
The storage boxes have a smooth surface that can be wiped down with a damp cloth and mild cleaning solution. Avoid using abrasive cleaners that could scratch the surface.
For the castors, you can use a soft-bristled brush or cloth to gently clean any dust or debris that accumulates. You can also use a small amount of mild lubricant on the castors to keep them rolling smoothly.
Be sure to pull the storage boxes all the way out when cleaning to access all sides. Avoid getting excessive moisture on the boxes or castors, as that could cause damage over time.
With some basic cleaning, you can keep the storage boxes and castors on your MALM bed frame looking and functioning their best
