Answered on Dec 08, 2023To disassemble the YTTERVÅG four-poster bed frame for moving, you will need a few basic tools:
- Phillips screwdriver
- Hammer
First, remove the mattress and bedding. Then, locate the screws attaching the headboard and footboard to the side rails. Use the Phillips screwdriver to unscrew these connections.
Next, the side rails are connected to the four-poster legs using wooden dowels. Gently tap the dowels out with the hammer to disconnect the side rails from the legs.
Finally, the slatted bed base can be lifted out. Be careful as it may be heavy.
Once disassembled, store the components together to make reassembly easier at your new location. Refer to the original assembly instructions if needed. Take care not to lose any small hardware pieces during the process

I have a high mattress and need more clearance to sit up comfortably. Additionally, are the slats adjustable in terms of width or only in terms of thickness?

Answered on Jul 02, 2022The YTTERVÅG four-poster bed frame does not offer customizable headboard height. The headboard is a fixed height as part of the overall bed frame design. However, you can adjust the bed sides to accommodate mattresses of different thicknesses, which may provide the extra clearance you need to sit up comfortably.
Regarding the slats, they are not adjustable in width. The 17 layer-glued slats are a fixed width that provides support and flexibility for the mattress. The slats can only be adjusted in terms of thickness to accommodate different mattress heights, not widths
