Posted on Feb 09, 2023I love the design and functionality of this bed frame with storage. However, I have a concern about the soft-closing mechanism on the drawers. It seems to be malfunctioning, and the drawers are not closing properly. Can you provide any troubleshooting tips or suggest a possible solution? Additionally, are there any replacement parts available for the soft-closing mechanism if it needs to be replaced?

Answered on Feb 11, 2023The soft-closing mechanism on the IDANÄS bed frame drawers can sometimes malfunction if not properly maintained. Here are a few troubleshooting tips that may help:
First, check that the drawers are properly aligned and sliding smoothly on the tracks. Ensure there is no obstruction preventing the drawers from closing fully. You can try lubricating the tracks with a silicone-based furniture polish to help the drawers glide more easily.
If the issue persists, the soft-closing mechanism itself may need adjustment or replacement. IKEA does offer replacement soft-close mechanisms that can be purchased separately. You'll need to remove the drawer and locate the soft-close component, then follow the instructions to properly install the replacement part.
In some cases, the entire drawer slide assembly may need to be replaced if the soft-close mechanism cannot be fixed. Replacement drawer slides are also available from IKEA. Be sure to order the correct size and model to fit your IDANÄS bed frame.
