Answered on Aug 17, 2023The key steps for attaching the footboard to the side rails on the MALM bed frame are:
1. Locate the metal brackets that connect the footboard to the side rails. These should be included in the hardware pack.
2. Align the holes in the brackets with the pre-drilled holes on the inside of the side rails.
3. Insert the screws provided through the brackets and into the side rails. Make sure the screws are tightened securely.
4. Once the brackets are attached, you can then connect the footboard by aligning it with the brackets and inserting the screws.

Posted on May 06, 2023I love the design of this bed frame! Can I attach a trundle bed or storage drawers underneath the main bed? Are there any special screws or attachments needed for that, and if so, are they included in the package?

Answered on May 08, 2023The MALM high bed frame is not designed to accommodate a trundle bed or additional storage drawers underneath the main bed. The bed frame comes with the 2 large drawers on casters as the built-in storage solution. There are no special screws or attachments included in the package to add any additional under-bed storage or trundle functionality. The bed frame is designed as a standalone unit with the 2 integrated drawers. Adding a trundle or extra drawers would require modifying the bed frame, which is not recommended or supported by IKEA

Answered on Mar 08, 2023To attach the headboard to the MALM bed frame, follow these steps:
1. Locate the pre-drilled holes on the back of the headboard and the corresponding holes on the bed frame.
2. Insert the bolts provided through the holes on the headboard and into the holes on the bed frame.
3. Tighten the bolts securely using a wrench or socket set.
4. Ensure the headboard is firmly attached to the bed frame.
