Posted on Jan 01, 2024I just received my Nyhamn sleeper sofa and I'm excited to use it. However, when I tried to open the click-clack mechanism for the first time, it got stuck halfway. The backrest doesn't fold down properly and the underframe won't come up all the way. Can you please provide instructions on how to troubleshoot or fix this issue?

Posted on Mar 30, 2023I'm having trouble with the click-clack mechanism. The sofa doesn't easily convert into a bed anymore, and I have to use some force to make it work. Is there any way to lubricate or maintain the mechanism to make it easier to operate?

Answered on Apr 01, 2023To lubricate and maintain the click-clack mechanism on your NYHAMN sleeper sofa, try the following steps:
1. Locate the click-clack mechanism underneath the sofa. This is usually a metal hinge or joint that allows the sofa to fold down into a bed.
2. Use a silicone-based lubricant spray or oil to lightly coat the moving parts of the mechanism. Avoid using petroleum-based lubricants as they can damage the plastic components.
3. Work the mechanism back and forth a few times to help distribute the lubricant evenly.
4. Wipe away any excess lubricant with a clean cloth.
This should help restore smooth, easy operation of the click-clack function so you can convert the sofa to a bed without having to use excessive force. If the issue persists, you may need to have the mechanism inspected by an IKEA repair technician
