The ladder mounts on the right or the left side of the bed.
The desk can be mounted parallel or perpendicular to the bed. The wardrobe can also be placed in different directions.

Are there any specific Ikea products that would work well with this setup, or do I need to get creative with DIY solutions?

Answered on Jun 03, 2023To add a canopy or curtains around the SMÅSTAD loft bed, you can use the KURA bed canopy accessory from IKEA. The KURA canopy is designed to fit the KURA loft bed, but it should also work well with the SMÅSTAD loft bed since they have similar dimensions.
The KURA canopy attaches to the bed frame and creates a cozy, private space around the bed. It comes in different colors and patterns, so you can choose one that matches the overall look of the SMÅSTAD setup.
Alternatively, you could explore DIY curtain solutions using tension rods or curtain tracks installed around the loft bed. This would allow you to customize the fabric and design to your preference. Just make sure to choose a lightweight, breathable fabric that won't interfere with the bed's functionality

Can you confirm if the ladder can be adjusted in height? My child is still growing and I want to ensure that the ladder will accommodate their needs as they get taller.
Is it possible to attach additional storage bins or shelves under the bed? I would love to add more storage space for toys, books, or clothes.
Are there any specific screws or tools required to assemble the loft bed combination, and if so, are they included in the package?
Can you provide more information about the desk drawers? Are they deep enough to store A4-sized notebooks and folders, and are they lockable for added security?

Answered on Jan 08, 20231. The ladder on the SMÅSTAD loft bed is not height-adjustable. However, the overall height of the bed is 71 5/8" (182 cm), which should accommodate most growing children.
2. Yes, it is possible to add additional storage under the loft bed. The space under the bed has a height of 55 7/8" (142 cm), which provides ample room for storage bins or shelves.
3. The package includes all necessary screws and tools required for assembly. No additional tools are needed.
4. The desk drawers are 23 5/8" (60 cm) wide, 13 3/4" (35 cm) deep, and 5 1/8" (13 cm) high, which should be sufficient to store A4-sized notebooks and folders. The drawers are not lockable.
