Posted on Dec 19, 2023I've assembled the bookcase, but one of the drawers doesn't slide in properly. The drawer is not aligned with the track and gets stuck when I try to push it in. Are there any adjustments or modifications that can be made to fix this issue?

Posted on Jan 17, 2023I've assembled the bookcase, but one of the drawers is stuck and won't slide out properly. What could be causing this issue?
Alice @ EasyRebuild
Answered on Jan 19, 2023The most likely cause of a stuck drawer is that it is not properly aligned or installed. Here are some steps to troubleshoot and fix the issue:
1. Check if the drawer slides are installed correctly. Ensure they are properly secured to the bookcase frame and the drawer is sitting correctly on the slides.
2. Inspect the drawer slides for any obstructions or debris that may be preventing smooth operation. Wipe down the slides with a clean cloth to remove any dust or dirt.
3. Verify the drawer is not overloaded. Heavy items in the drawer can cause it to bind and stick. Redistribute the contents to reduce the weight.
4. Adjust the drawer alignment. There are usually small adjustments possible to shift the drawer left/right or up/down to get it sliding smoothly.
5. If the issue persists, the drawer slides may need to be replaced. Contact IKEA for replacement parts and guidance on how to properly install new slides
