Posted on Mar 05, 2024I recently purchased the ESSEBODA 3-seat sofa in Knäbäck anthracite/brown and I'm having trouble removing the fabric cover from the frame. Can you please provide instructions or advice on how to do this safely without damaging the fabric or any other parts of the sofa?
Alice @ EasyRebuild
Answered on Mar 07, 2024To safely remove the fabric cover from the ESSEBODA 3-seat sofa, follow these steps:
1. Locate the zippers or fasteners along the sides and bottom of the sofa. These are typically hidden under the cushions or along the back.
2. Carefully unzip or unfasten the cover, starting from the bottom and working your way up. Avoid pulling or tugging too hard to prevent any damage.
3. Once the cover is fully detached, lift it off the sofa frame gently. Be mindful of any cords or attachments that may still be connected.
4. If the cover needs cleaning, check the care instructions provided by IKEA. Most can be machine washed on a gentle cycle.
5. When ready to re-attach the cover, align it properly and fasten the zippers or fasteners securely to ensure a snug fit.
Take your time and work slowly to avoid any rips or tears in the fabric. Let me know if you have any other questions

Posted on Aug 31, 2023I've noticed that the armrests are slightly lower and more rounded than I expected. Does this mean they're not as supportive for taller individuals?
Would it be possible to attach a higher armrest or adjust the existing one in some way?
Kenzo @ EasyRebuild
Answered on Sep 02, 2023The rounded and slightly lower armrests on the ESSEBODA 3-seat sofa are designed to be comfortable for resting your arms and head, but they may not provide as much support for taller individuals. Unfortunately, the armrests are not adjustable and cannot be replaced with higher ones. The sofa is designed with this specific armrest height and shape. If you require more arm support, you may want to consider a different sofa model with taller armrests that would better suit your needs

Posted on May 16, 2023I've had my Esseboda sofa for a few years now, and the fabric is starting to show signs of wear. How do I clean the Knäbäck fabric? Is it machine washable or should I hand wash it?
T. Gonzalez
Alice @ EasyRebuild
Answered on May 18, 2023The Knäbäck fabric on the ESSEBODA sofa is not machine washable. For best results, it should be hand washed. Here are the steps to properly clean the fabric:
1. Vacuum the sofa thoroughly to remove any loose dirt or debris.
2. Mix a mild detergent with lukewarm water in a large container.
3. Dip a soft cloth or sponge into the soapy water and gently dab and blot the fabric. Avoid rubbing or scrubbing, as this can damage the fabric.
4. Rinse the cloth or sponge and dab the fabric again to remove any remaining soap.
5. Allow the fabric to air dry completely before using the sofa again.
It's important not to machine wash the Knäbäck fabric, as this could cause shrinkage or damage the material. With proper hand washing, you can help extend the life of your ESSEBODA sofa's upholstery

Posted on Oct 23, 2022I'm interested in purchasing the ESSEBODA 3-seat sofa, but I'm concerned about its size. Will it fit comfortably in my living room, which is approximately 12x15 feet? Additionally, do you have any recommendations for placement and arrangement suggestions to maximize the space and create a cozy atmosphere?
