Posted on Jul 31, 2023I've assembled the Maximera drawer and it's working smoothly so far. However, I noticed that when I close the door, it sometimes gets stuck or jams slightly. Is this a normal behavior or is there something wrong with the damper mechanism? Should I make any adjustments to ensure smooth operation?

Answered on Aug 02, 2023The door damper mechanism on the SEKTION / MAXIMERA cabinet is designed to prevent the door from slamming shut, but it's possible that it needs some minor adjustments to ensure smooth and consistent operation. First, check that the hinges are properly installed and aligned. If the hinges are not level or the door is not properly positioned, it can cause the damper to engage unevenly. You may need to make small adjustments to the hinge screws to get the door properly aligned. Additionally, ensure that the damper mechanism itself is not obstructed or damaged. Over time, the damper may need to be lubricated with a small amount of silicone-based lubricant to maintain smooth operation. If the issue persists after making these adjustments, you may need to replace the damper mechanism. Contact IKEA customer service for further assistance
