Posted on Nov 16, 2023I love the look of this sofa! I'm considering purchasing it, but I have a few questions before making a decision. Can you tell me more about the quality of the fabric? Is the Gransel gray color more of a dark or light gray? Are there any reviews or feedback from previous customers that can give me an idea of how well the sofa holds up over time?

Answered on Jul 02, 2023The HYLTARP sofa cover is made of Gransel, a fabric with elements of linen and viscose that add a slight luster. The fabric is designed to be easy to keep clean, as the cover is removable and can be machine washed.
To clean the removable cover, you can simply machine wash it using a gentle cycle and mild detergent. Avoid using bleach or fabric softener, as these can damage the fabric. It's best to air dry the cover to prevent shrinkage.
While the Gransel fabric is not explicitly described as stain-resistant, the fact that the cover is removable and machine washable makes it easy to clean any spills or stains that may occur. With proper care, the HYLTARP sofa should maintain its attractive appearance for years to come

Posted on Feb 05, 2023I love the design and features of this sofa, but I'm having some trouble with the removable cover. It seems to be stuck on one side and won't come off easily. Are there any specific instructions or techniques that can help me remove it without damaging the fabric?

Answered on Feb 07, 2023To remove the sofa cover without damaging the fabric, try the following steps:
1. Locate the zippers or velcro fasteners along the sides and back of the sofa cover. These are typically where the cover attaches to the frame.
2. Carefully unzip or unfasten the cover, starting from the bottom and working your way up. Go slowly and gently to avoid pulling or tearing the fabric.
3. If there are any snaps or buttons securing the cover, unsnap or unbutton them as well.
4. Once the cover is fully detached, lift it up and off the sofa frame. You may need to pull and tug gently in some areas to fully remove it.
5. If the cover is still stuck in one area, try gently working it loose by pulling and tugging that section. Avoid using excessive force, as this could damage the fabric.
Take your time and work carefully. With some patience, you should be able to remove the cover without any issues. Let me know if you have any other questions

Posted on Jan 27, 2023Can the chaise longue be placed on either side of the sofa, or is it specifically designed to go only on one side?
Kenzo @ EasyRebuild
Answered on Jan 29, 2023The chaise longue of the HYLTARP sofa can be placed on either the left or right side of the sofa. The product description states that this is a "Sofa w chaise, left", which indicates that the chaise can be configured on the left side. However, the sofa is designed to be reversible, so the chaise can be positioned on the opposite side as well

Posted on Jan 01, 2023I'm considering purchasing the HYLTARP Sofa with chaise lounge, but I have some concerns about the fabric. Can you confirm if the Gransel gray fabric is stain-resistant and what kind of maintenance is required to keep it looking its best?
Additionally, are there any specific cleaning products recommended for this fabric?
Kenzo @ EasyRebuild
Answered on Jan 03, 2023The Gransel gray fabric used on the HYLTARP Sofa is a blend of linen and viscose, which provides a natural and slightly lustrous appearance. This fabric is designed to be durable and stain-resistant, making it a good choice for a family sofa.
To keep the Gransel gray fabric looking its best, regular vacuuming or light brushing is recommended to remove any loose dirt or debris. For more stubborn stains, you can use a mild, water-based upholstery cleaner. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners, as they may damage the fabric.
IKEA recommends using their own FIXA upholstery cleaner, which is specifically formulated for their textile products. This cleaner is gentle yet effective at removing stains and maintaining the fabric's appearance.
It's important to follow the care instructions provided by IKEA, which include machine washing the removable cover at a maximum temperature of 40°C (104°F) and air drying. This will help preserve the fabric's quality and ensure the sofa continues to look great for years to come
