Posted on Mar 27, 2023I just received my Hyltarap loveseat and I'm thrilled with the comfort and design. However, I noticed that one of the armrests is slightly higher than the other by about 1 inch. Is this a manufacturing defect or is there something I can do to adjust it?
Alice @ EasyRebuild
Answered on Mar 29, 2023The slight variation in armrest height is likely not a manufacturing defect, but rather a normal characteristic of the HYLTARP loveseat. The design allows for some flexibility and adjustability in the frame and cushions. To address the difference, you can try the following:
1. Gently press down on the higher armrest to see if you can compress it slightly and even out the height.
2. Ensure the loveseat is placed on a level surface. An uneven floor could cause one armrest to sit higher than the other.
3. If the height difference persists, you can try adjusting the leveling feet underneath the loveseat to tilt it slightly and compensate for the height variation.
If these simple adjustments do not resolve the issue, I would recommend contacting IKEA customer service. They should be able to provide further guidance or arrange for a replacement part if needed, as the HYLTARP comes with a 10-year limited warranty
