To disassemble the HYLTARP sofa without damaging it, follow these steps:

1. Remove the back cushions by gently pulling them off the sofa.
2. Locate the screws or bolts attaching the legs to the sofa frame. These are typically found on the underside of the sofa.
3. Using the appropriate tool (usually a screwdriver or wrench), carefully remove the screws or bolts to detach the legs.
4. The chaise lounge section is not designed to be disassembled. It's best to move the sofa as a single unit, if possible.
5. Avoid pulling or pushing the sofa too forcefully, as this could damage the frame or upholstery.

Remember to keep all removed screws, bolts, and other hardware together to make reassembly easier. Take care when handling the sofa to prevent any damage

I have a problem with the chaise lounge storage compartment. The lid won't stay open and keeps falling back down, making it difficult to access the storage space. Is there a trick or adjustment that I can make to keep the lid from falling?

The issue with the chaise lounge storage compartment lid not staying open is likely due to the automatic stop mechanism. This feature is designed to keep the lid from falling abruptly, but it seems to be malfunctioning in your case.

To resolve this, you can try the following:

1. Check for any obstructions or debris that may be preventing the lid from staying open. Gently clean the hinges and mechanism to ensure smooth operation.

2. Locate the small lever or switch on the underside of the chaise that controls the automatic stop function. Try adjusting this lever to a different position, which may allow the lid to stay open more easily.

3. If the above steps don't work, the issue may be with the internal mechanism itself. In this case, you may need to contact IKEA customer service to inquire about a replacement part or further troubleshooting assistance.

With a little bit of tinkering, you should be able to get the chaise lounge storage compartment lid working properly again
