Posted on Sep 15, 2023I recently purchased the Skartofta black/light gray cover for my Nyhamn sleeper sofa. However, after washing it according to the instructions, the color has faded significantly.
Is there anything that can be done to restore the original color or brightness of the cover?

First, ensure you followed the washing instructions carefully, using a mild detergent and avoiding excessive heat or agitation during the wash cycle. Over-washing or using harsh detergents can cause fading.
If the fading persists, you can try gently hand-washing the cover in cool water with a small amount of mild detergent or fabric softener. Avoid wringing or twisting the fabric, as this can also contribute to color loss.
Another option is to use a fabric color restorer or dye specifically formulated for polyester fabrics. Apply it according to the product instructions, being careful not to over-saturate the fabric.

Posted on Jan 07, 2023I would like to know if the cover can be reversed, meaning if I turn it inside out will it look the same or is there an obvious wrong side?

Answered on Jan 09, 2023The NYHAMN cover for the sleeper sofa can be reversed, but there is an obvious wrong side. The cover is made of a two-toned mélange effect fabric, so turning it inside out will reveal a different color pattern that is not intended to be the visible side. The front side of the cover has the desired mélange effect, while the inside will have a more uniform color without the textured appearance. Therefore, it is recommended to use the cover as intended, with the mélange effect side facing outwards for the desired aesthetic
