Posted on Feb 11, 2024I recently purchased the Finnala Cover for my sofa and I love it! However, after washing it according to the instructions, some of the dye seems to have run and left a pinkish stain on the fabric. Is this normal or could there be something wrong with the fabric? How can I remove the stain?

Answered on Feb 13, 2024The pinkish stain you're experiencing after washing the Finnala cover is likely due to the dope-dyed fabric. Dope-dyed fabrics can sometimes experience some color bleeding or fading when washed, especially on the first few washes. This is normal behavior for this type of fabric.
To try to remove the stain, I would recommend the following:
1. Wash the cover again, this time using a mild detergent and cool water. Avoid using hot water, as that can exacerbate the color bleeding.
2. You can also try spot cleaning the affected area with a fabric cleaner or mild soap and water. Gently blot the stain, don't rub.
3. If the stain persists, you can try using a color-safe bleach alternative or a fabric whitener. Test it on a small, inconspicuous area first to ensure it doesn't further discolor the fabric.

If the cover seems too small for your sofa, it's likely that your sofa model is different from the FINNALA. IKEA offers a variety of sofa models and covers are made to fit each one precisely. Unfortunately, you won't be able to return or exchange this FINNALA cover for a larger size, as it's not compatible with your sofa. Your best option is to measure your sofa and contact IKEA customer service to find the correct replacement cover that will fit properly
