Posted on Feb 09, 2024How do I clean the Knäbäck fabric on my Esseboda ottoman? Can it be machine washed, or does it require dry cleaning only?
R. Holmes

Answered on Feb 11, 2024The Knäbäck fabric on the Esseboda ottoman can be machine washed. IKEA recommends the following cleaning instructions:
Machine wash at a maximum of 104°F (40°C). Use a gentle cycle. Avoid using bleach or other harsh detergents. The cover can also be tumble dried on a low setting.
For more stubborn stains, you can spot clean the fabric with a mild, water-based soap and a damp cloth. Avoid rubbing too vigorously as this may damage the fabric.
Dry cleaning is not required for the Knäbäck fabric on this Esseboda ottoman. Following these simple machine washing instructions will help keep the cover looking its best

Posted on May 29, 2023I would like to know if it's possible to replace the fabric cover of the Esseboda Ottoman, as I accidentally spilled something on it and it has left a stain that cannot be removed. Is there a replacement option available?

Answered on May 31, 2023The ESSEBODA Ottoman does have a removable and replaceable cover. You can purchase a replacement cover separately from IKEA to swap out the existing one. The cover is made of a cotton and polyester fabric called Knäbäck, which is available in the anthracite color to match the original. To replace the cover, simply remove the existing one and attach the new replacement cover. This will allow you to easily refresh the look of your Ottoman if the original cover becomes stained or damaged. IKEA offers replacement covers as spare parts that you can order to maintain the appearance of your ESSEBODA Ottoman

Posted on Jan 30, 2023I have an Esseboda footstool with a broken leg, which is no longer attached to the ottoman. How can I repair or replace it?
Shannon Smith
Alice @ EasyRebuild
Answered on Feb 01, 2023To repair the broken leg on your ESSEBODA footstool, you'll need to first remove the damaged leg. Look underneath the footstool and you should see screws or bolts holding the leg in place. Unscrew these to detach the broken leg.
Once the leg is removed, you can order a replacement leg directly from IKEA. You'll need to provide the product name and item number when placing the order to ensure you get the correct replacement part. The replacement leg should attach in the same way as the original, simply screw it back into place underneath the footstool.
If the footstool frame itself is damaged, it may be best to consider replacing the entire unit. IKEA offers a 10-year warranty on this product, so you may be able to get a replacement if the damage is covered. I'd recommend contacting IKEA customer service to discuss your options
