Answered on Jan 12, 2024Yes, it is possible to hand wash the Tallmyra white/black chenille cover instead of machine washing. Here are the recommended steps for hand washing and drying:
1. Fill a large sink or tub with lukewarm water and add a mild detergent or wool wash. Avoid using hot water, as it can damage the fibers.
2. Gently submerge the cover and let it soak for 5-10 minutes, swishing it around occasionally to release any dirt or stains.
3. Rinse the cover thoroughly with clean, lukewarm water to remove all the detergent.
4. Gently squeeze out any excess water, being careful not to twist or wring the fabric, as this can damage the fibers.
5. Lay the cover flat on a clean, dry towel and roll it up to absorb more water.
6. Unroll the cover and lay it flat to air dry, preferably in a well-ventilated area out of direct sunlight. Avoid using a clothes dryer, as the heat can also damage the fibers.
Allow the cover to fully dry before putting it back on the sofa
