Posted on Sep 22, 2023I have a Kivik loveseat with removable armrests, but they are not fitting properly. The screws that hold them in place seem to be stripped and I'm unable to tighten or loosen them.
Is there any way to repair or replace the armrests?

Answered on Sep 24, 2023To repair the armrests on your KIVIK loveseat, you can try the following steps:
1. First, check if the armrest screws are simply loose and need to be tightened. Use the correct screwdriver to gently tighten the screws, being careful not to overtighten them.
2. If the screws are stripped, you'll need to replace them. Unscrew the armrest completely and take it with you to an IKEA store or hardware store to find replacement screws that fit properly.
3. Another option is to use small wood screws or drywall screws to reattach the armrest if the original screw holes are stripped. Drill new pilot holes before inserting the new screws.
4. As a last resort, you may need to replace the entire armrest assembly if the connection points on the loveseat frame are also damaged. IKEA sells replacement armrest kits that you can purchase and install.
Be sure to follow the IKEA assembly instructions carefully when reattaching the armrests. With the right replacement parts and a bit of DIY effort, you should be able to get your KIVIK loveseat's armrests functioning properly again
