Can I attach the table top to the underframe without using the pre-drilled holes? If so, what kind of screws or fasteners should I use?

I'm looking to assemble the Mittcirkel/Alex desk, but I notice that some of the holes on the table top don't seem to match up with the screws provided in the package. What can I do in this situation?
