Posted on Jan 26, 2024I have assembled the TROTTEN cabinet, but one of the sliding doors is not closing properly. There is a slight gap between the door and the frame. What could be the cause of this issue and how can I fix it?
Alice @ EasyRebuild
Answered on Jan 28, 2024The issue with the sliding door not closing properly and having a gap between the door and the frame could be caused by a few potential factors:
1. The door may not be properly aligned within the frame. Check if the door is installed correctly and evenly spaced on both sides of the frame.
2. The door rollers or tracks may be obstructed or not functioning smoothly. Ensure that the rollers are rolling freely and the tracks are clear of any debris.
3. The cabinet frame may not be perfectly square. This can cause the door to bind or not close evenly. Try adjusting the leveling feet to ensure the cabinet is level and square.
To fix the issue, you can try the following steps:
1. Adjust the door alignment by loosening the screws that attach the door to the frame, then shift the door into the proper position and retighten the screws.
2. Clean the door rollers and tracks, then apply a small amount of silicone-based lubricant to help the door slide smoothly.
3. Use a spirit level to check if the cabinet is level, and adjust the leveling feet as needed to square up the frame.
If the issue persists after trying these steps, you may need to contact IKEA customer service for further assistance

Posted on Mar 26, 2023I would like to install the TROTTEN cabinet with sliding doors on a uneven floor. How do I adjust the feet of the cabinet?
Alice @ EasyRebuild
Answered on Mar 28, 2023The TROTTEN cabinet has adjustable feet that allow you to level it on uneven floors. Here are the steps to adjust the feet:
1. Locate the adjustable feet at the bottom of the cabinet. There should be 4 feet, one at each corner.
2. Using a wrench or pliers, turn the feet clockwise to extend them and raise the cabinet. Turn them counterclockwise to retract the feet and lower the cabinet.
3. Adjust each foot as needed until the cabinet is level and stable on the uneven floor.
4. Make sure all 4 feet are making contact with the floor to provide a sturdy, level base for the cabinet.
By adjusting the feet, you can easily install the TROTTEN cabinet with sliding doors on an uneven surface and ensure it stands steady
