I'm having trouble assembling the desk, specifically attaching the tabletop to the underframe. The pre-drilled holes don't seem to match up properly. Are there any additional instructions or tips that can help me successfully attach the top?

The pre-drilled holes not lining up properly is a common issue with the MITTCIRKEL / KRILLE desk. Here are a few tips to help you successfully attach the tabletop to the underframe:

First, ensure all the hardware pieces are present and accounted for. Double-check the instructions to make sure you have everything needed.

Next, try gently tapping the tabletop into place to get the holes to align. You may need to apply a bit of pressure, but be careful not to force it as this could damage the materials.

If the holes still don't line up, you can try enlarging the holes slightly with a drill bit. This will give you a bit more flexibility in positioning the tabletop.

Lastly, make sure the underframe is fully assembled and square before attempting to attach the top. This will help ensure a proper fit.

Take your time and don't be afraid to refer back to the instructions if you get stuck. With a little patience, you should be able to get the tabletop securely attached

I've assembled the desk and everything seems fine, except for one thing - the pre-drilled holes on the tabletop don't quite line up with the screws on the underframe. What could be causing this issue? Is it possible to adjust or shim the table top to make it fit properly?

The misalignment between the pre-drilled holes on the tabletop and the screws on the underframe is likely due to slight variations in manufacturing tolerances. This is a common issue that can occur with IKEA furniture.

To resolve this, you can try the following:

1. Carefully check if the underframe is assembled correctly and square. Make any necessary adjustments.

2. Gently place the tabletop on the underframe and check where the holes and screws don't align. Mark those spots.

3. Using a drill, carefully enlarge the pre-drilled holes on the tabletop slightly at the marked locations. This will allow you to shift the tabletop into the proper position.

4. Secure the tabletop to the underframe, making sure it is level and stable.

If the holes are still not perfectly aligned after this, you can use small washers or shims between the tabletop and underframe to fill any gaps and stabilize the connection
