Posted on Feb 01, 2024I'm having trouble with the table extension mechanism. The leaf won't stay extended and keeps falling back into place. Is there a trick or specific technique to keep it in place?

Answered on Feb 03, 2024The issue with the table leaf not staying extended is likely due to the extension mechanism needing adjustment. Here are the steps to troubleshoot and fix this:
1. Ensure the table is on a level surface. An uneven floor can cause the extension mechanism to not function properly.
2. Check that all screws and bolts on the table frame and extension mechanism are tightened securely. Over time, these can become loose and cause the extension to malfunction.
3. Locate the small plastic or metal clips that hold the leaf in the extended position. These may have become worn or damaged, preventing them from gripping the leaf firmly. Replace any damaged clips.

The table legs are always in the corners of the tabletop, even when extended, so there should be ample room for chairs. However, the chair height, width, and depth need to be considered to avoid interference with the table extensions.
