Posted on Feb 23, 2024I recently bought the Lagkaptén/Alex desk and I'm having trouble attaching the tabletop to the underframe. The pre-drilled holes don't seem to match up properly.
Is there a specific technique or method that you recommend for assembling this desk?

Answered on Feb 25, 2024The pre-drilled holes on the tabletop and underframe not aligning properly is a common issue with this desk. Here are the steps I recommend to properly assemble the LAGKAPTEN / ALEX desk:
1. Ensure all the hardware (screws, washers, etc.) provided in the assembly instructions are accounted for.
2. Carefully lay the tabletop upside down on a flat, scratch-free surface.
3. Position the underframe on top of the tabletop, lining up the pre-drilled holes as best as possible.
4. If the holes still don't align, gently tap the underframe into the correct position using a rubber mallet.
5. Once aligned, securely attach the underframe to the tabletop using the provided hardware, making sure all screws are tightened fully.
Take your time during assembly and double-check the alignment of the components. This should help ensure a proper, sturdy connection between the tabletop and underframe
