Posted on Nov 09, 2022I purchased the Småstad desk for my child, but I'm concerned about the durability of the particle board used in its construction. Will it be able to withstand heavy use and potential scratches or spills? Are there any tips on how to maintain the desk's surface to extend its lifespan?

Answered on Nov 11, 2022The SMÅSTAD desk is designed to be durable and withstand regular use. The particle board used in its construction is a robust material that can handle moderate wear and tear. To help extend the lifespan of the desk, here are some tips:
- Avoid placing heavy objects or applying excessive force on the desk surface, as this could potentially damage the particle board over time. Distribute weight evenly.
- Clean the desk regularly using a damp cloth and mild, non-abrasive cleaner. Avoid using harsh chemicals or scrubbing too vigorously, as this could scratch the surface.
- Consider using a desk pad or protective cover to shield the surface from scratches, spills, and other potential damage. This will help preserve the appearance of the desk.
- If any minor scratches or dents occur, you can try using furniture markers or touch-up pens to blend them in and maintain the desk's overall look.
With proper care and reasonable use, the SMÅSTAD desk should provide reliable performance for your child's needs

Posted on Oct 02, 2022I have a Småstad desk with 2 drawers, and I'm having trouble opening the left drawer. The handle seems to be stuck. How can I fix this? Is there a specific way to lubricate it or any other solution you can recommend?
Kenzo @ EasyRebuild
Answered on Oct 04, 2022To fix the stuck drawer on your SMÅSTAD desk, try the following:
First, check if the drawer is properly aligned in the frame. Gently pull the drawer out and inspect the slides or runners. Make sure they are not bent or damaged. If they look fine, try lubricating the slides with a silicone-based furniture polish or a dry lubricant spray. Apply a small amount and work the drawer back and forth to distribute the lubricant.
If the drawer is still sticking, the issue may be with the drawer front or the drawer box itself. Try removing the drawer completely and inspecting for any obstructions or debris that could be preventing smooth operation. Clean the drawer box and slides thoroughly.
You can also try adjusting the drawer front. There are usually screws or clips that allow you to fine-tune the alignment of the drawer front. This can help improve the smooth opening and closing of the drawer.
If the problem persists, there may be a more serious issue with the drawer mechanism that would require further troubleshooting or replacement of the drawer components
